How to use

How to convert PNG to JPG

  1. 1 Click the upload button and select a PNG image from your device. Other image formats are also supported.
  2. 2 Adjust the JPG quality slider. Higher quality produces larger files with less compression artifacts; lower quality produces smaller files.
  3. 3 Choose a background color to replace PNG transparency. JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with this color.
  4. 4 Click Convert to JPG to process the image. A side-by-side preview shows the original and converted images with file size comparison.
  5. 5 Click Download JPG to save the converted file to your device.

PNG and JPG are the two most common image formats on the web, each with different strengths. PNG supports transparency and lossless compression, making it ideal for logos, screenshots, and graphics with text. JPG uses lossy compression optimized for photographs, producing much smaller file sizes at the cost of some quality loss. Converting PNG to JPG is useful when you need to reduce file size for email, web upload, or storage.

The quality slider controls the tradeoff between file size and image quality. At 85%, most images look indistinguishable from the original while being 60-80% smaller. At 60-70%, compression artifacts may become visible in areas with fine detail or gradients, but the file size savings are significant. For photographs, 75-85% is usually the sweet spot.

Since JPG does not support transparency, any transparent areas in your PNG will be filled with the background color you select. White is the most common choice, but you might use a different color if the image will be displayed on a colored background. The entire conversion happens in your browser using the Canvas API — your images are never uploaded to any server.
