How to use

How to run a pomodoro focus cycle with custom work and break lengths

  1. 1 Start with the default 25 minute work session and 5 minute break, or change either duration to match your routine.
  2. 2 Click Start to begin the countdown and watch the progress ring shrink as the session runs.
  3. 3 Use Pause when you need to stop temporarily without losing the remaining time.
  4. 4 Click Skip phase to jump directly from work to break or from break back to the next focus block.
  5. 5 Listen for the built-in Web Audio beep when a phase ends and review the completed pomodoros count as you go.

The Pomodoro Technique breaks work into focused intervals followed by short rests so it is easier to stay concentrated without burning out. A 25 minute sprint paired with a 5 minute break is a common starting point, but the best rhythm can vary by task, energy level, and work style.

A visual countdown ring is helpful because it shows progress at a glance even when you do not want to read the clock constantly. Tracking completed pomodoros also gives you a simple productivity measure for study sessions, writing blocks, coding tasks, and deep work habits.
